FINANCIAL LAWS YOU MUST NEVER BREAK III
(Genesis 8:22 KJV)
“While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.”
There are laws and there are laws. I believe that the law of seed, time and harvest is the mother of all laws. I say so because sometime in scripture after Jesus had taught on the sower and seed, one of His disciples asked for the meaning of the parable, and His response was amazing; “And he said unto them, Know ye not this parable? and how then will ye know all parables?” (Mark 4:13 KJV). This meant that seed time and harvest is the wisdom that undergirds all other wisdom and laws.
The principle of seed time and harvest is what handles rain and sun, investments and dividends, cause and effect, actions and consequences, and even the reproduction of human beings. You were once a seed in your father’s loins, planted in your mother’s womb and after nine months you became a harvest. The other law that must not be broken is:
ii. The Law of first fruit.
“Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.” (Proverbs 3:9-10 KJV).
First fruit is all about honour for, and to God. When you give God your first salary, that is a first fruit, and that is how to honour God. When you give God the new increase in your income or salary, it is honour done to God, and God honours those who honour Him; (1Samuel 2:30). And when God honours you, it will show for all to see.
When you give God the first, He blesses the rest. The guarantees of tomorrow in today’s world is very slim, but not when you have honoured God. (Romans 11:16).
The word “first” means the “the best”. Give God the best and He will give you His best too. For about ten years now, I have been giving God my first income for each year, and the rewards have been amazing for the rest of the year. On the first month of each year, we honour God with our income and it is a very powerful way to consecrate the finances of the rest of the year.
Action Points/Prayer
i. Ask God for the grace and power to lay down your sacrifices like Jesus and for the power to take up your harvest as well.
ii. Lord please teach me more ways to honour you in my life in Jesus Name.
Nugget
When you give God the first, He blesses the rest. The guarantees of tomorrow in today’s world is very slim, but not when you have honoured God.
