WHY WE ARE NOT HEALED IN ZION
(Hebrews 12:22-24 KJV)
“But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel”.
We know already that zion speaks of the church of the living God. God decided to give us a peep into the massive and weighty dignitaries that attend our fellowships with the brethren. From the innumerable company of Angels, to the spirits of just men made perfect, all in attendance. When we gather, God sits as judge of all, and there is the blood of Jesus that speaks better things than any other blood. So, we see that God has prepared heavily for us; we see that our fellowship is loaded, but we come and leave without any healing or change in our lives, why?
The answer lies in how we come for these fellowships and how we conduct ourselves when the service is ongoing. Also, there is the distraction dimension to the whole picture. All these put together will rob you of your deliverables in that fellowship. Here are some of the ways we wrongly approach the fellowship of the brethren:
-We come without reverence.
We behave as though God is our mate, and we are so careless, to the point where we hardly lift our voices and hands in praise worship. We hardly utter a word when it is time to pray.
-We make Fellowship time our gisting time. That is when we stretch to our friends and do some catch-up conversations. We forget that we are not just in fellowship with brethren but with angels, and all kinds of heavenly entourage.
-The next thing we do is bury our heads in our phones. We browse, we reply chats, we initiate chats, and we even answer some calls. Total and absolute distractions. With this kind of behavior, you will never be able to receive anything from the Lord. Because He said, you will seek me and find me when you search for me with all your hearts.
Good only honour’s those who honour Him, and He lightly esteems those who don’t know how to honour Him. When God lightly esteems you, you will not be able to receive from Him in any way.
Receive grace to come fellowshipping with one mind, one heart, and with absolute and brutal focus in Jesus Name.
Action Points
i. Ask the Lord to forgive you for any form of dishonour you may have shown towards Him in corporate worship.
ii. Examine the way you fellowship and begin to make corrections now.
Prayer
-Lord help me honour you the way you want to be honoured and the way you deserve to be honoured in Jesus Name.
-I cast down every idol and all kinds of distractions from my life in Jesus Name.
Nugget
Burying your head in your phones, browsing, chating and we even taking some calls, is absolute distraction. With this kind of behavior, you will never be able to receive anything from the Lord.
