WISDOM FROM ABOVE
(James 3:17)

THE FIRST THING
Proverbs 4:7 KJV
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.”
The word “principal” means first. Miss the first and you will miss the rest. Understanding the first gives you ease in the rest of the journey. Whatever is first determines the rest. Wherever you see disorder or confusion, then know that the first thing was missed. For instance, foundation is the first thing in any building, attempt to do it any other way and you are in for a great calamity. You could lose your life in a building where attention was not paid to its foundation, which is the first thing.
Never do a thing for which you have not first acquired the wisdom required to succeed at it. The first thing to do before getting into any business is to get the wisdom for it. The foremost step to marriage is to get the wisdom for marriage. Also, the first step into pastoring is to acquire the wisdom for it. That is what guarantees your success for the rest of the journey.
What you give first place in your life is a reflection of your level of wisdom at that point in time. When the first things in your life are quality things, then you are most likely a man of wisdom. What you do first when you wake up shows your wisdom level. The things you do when you receive your salary or business profit and dividends, all speak of your wisdom level. Jesus, in Matthew 6:33, gave us a wisdom of what should come first in our agenda and that is the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Wisdom is the principal thing, it is the best thing, it is the most important thing, and it is the foundation for everything else you do if you must succeed.
Action Points
i. Review everything you ever did that didn’t begin with wisdom and ask God to help you start all over again.
ii. Begin to ask for wisdom over any other venture in your mind that you plan to undertake.
Prayer
-Lord I do not just ask for wisdom, but I ask for the spirit of wisdom in Jesus Name.
Nugget
