THE GREAT ASSIGNMENT
(Luke 14:21-23 KJV)
Monday, 12th May
FIRST FIND YOUR BROTHER/SISTER.
(John 1:40-41 KJV)
“One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ”.
There is a reason why you are either the only person or one of the few people that is saved in your family, that reason is because God needed a point of contact through whom to perpetrate your family for salvation purposes. You were not saved to be by yourself, you were not saved so you can have a “holier than thou” attitude towards everyone else. You were saved at a time like this so you can be a bridge for God in your family.
Andrew first went after his brother Simon after he found Jesus. He was so convinced about Jesus that he couldn’t keep it away from his brother. His brother had to be the first because “charity begins at home” as they say. Rahab got a promise of escape from the destruction coming to Jericho, and immediately began to negotiate for her entire family. When the jailer asked Paul and Silas what he needed to do to be saved, they told him to believe the Lord and he would be saved with his house hold.
No salvation experience was meant to stop with one person, it is designed to affect and influence a family into salvation. God needs an intercessor in every family, He needs a go-between who would be more passionate about the salvation of his/her own kin. So, don’t be surprised by the fact that you are the only one saved in your family right now, it is for a reason, it is a set up for God to work through you. Receive grace to make yourself available for this assignment today in Jesus Name.
