BREAKTHROUGH BY PRAYER
(James 5:16 NIV)

PRAYING ACCORDING TO DIVINE PATTERN
(Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)
“After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen”
Just praying is not enough, it is rather more important to pray according to pattern. If I were to represent our text for today, I would capture it thus “after this pattern therefore pray ye…”. When a thing is done according to pattern, it receives speedy attention and resolution. By pattern, Jesus means that your daily prayer fellowship is supposed to capture certain details and points for it to gain a pass mark before God.
Here are the points that make the pattern:
-Our father which art in heaven.
Prayer works well when God is not just your God, but your father. He is a God to all, but not a father to all.
-Hallowed be thy Name.
Worship and praise is how we approach God. Prayer fellowship is not solid enough when worship and praise to God has been omitted. No matter how pressed you are, you cannot get into His presence without thanksgiving and praise, Psalm 100:4.
-Thy kingdom come.
This refers to praying for God’s rule and rulership to prevail upon the earth. This means praying for leaders at all levels, as they make decisions and formulate policies on our behalf. All must promote God’s kingdom on earth, or be such that God’s kingdom is not hindered, 1Timothy 2:1-4.
Watch out for the second part of this teaching. Receive grace to follow Divine patterns in Jesus Name.

-Lord fill my heart with wisdom to stick to the divine pattern You have created for us in Jesus Name.
