HOW TO NEVER LOSE YOUR PRAYER LIFE AGAIN
(Matthew 5:23-24 KJV)
“Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift”.
As far as God is concerned, altars are not supposed to be approached carelessly, altars are meeting points between men and God. Men approach altars for either of two things; to offer gifts and sacrifices or to pray. Here Jesus is saying that when you come to the altar and there you remember that your brother is not happy with you; leave all you came to do at the altar, and go get reconciled to your brother.
The reason we approach God at the altar is so we can see His face and provoke His interventions. But Hebrews 12:14 says “…without Peace with men, no man shall see the Lord”. Prayer and sacrificing will be exercises in futility, you may go through the motions, but never get to see the Lord’s face or hand of intervention. So, He says leave the altar and be reconciled to your brother. Too many people have lost touch with God because of their stubbornness in this area.
Beloved, your prayer life will die if you persist in grudge, unforgiveness and bitterness. Men are made in the image of God, and so bitterness against men is bitterness against God, hatred for men is hatred for God, and unforgiveness to man is to declare yourself unforgiven. To be unforgiven by God means you are among the wicked, and the Lord is angry with the wicked every day, as the prayer of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord. Receive grace to practice love in Jesus Name.
Action Points/Prayer
-Ask the Lord to forgive all foolishness along these lines in your life.
-Forgive all whoever offended you today in Jesus Name.
