BREAKTHROUGH BY PRAYER
(James 5:16 NIV)

THE SHADOW OF THE ALMIGHTY
(Psalm 91:1,5,7,10-11,13,15-16 KJV)
“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation”.
My teaching today is quite easy. The all-popular Psalm 91 begins with a sentence “he that dwells in the secret place of the most high, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty”. And soon after this sentence, all manner of promises and blessings followed, as listed above in our text. But what many people have not realized is that all these blessings are as a result of dwelling in the secret place.
Dwelling in the secret place is the condition for all the blessings and promises listed. There we see that you come under the shadow of the almighty, fear will die, a thousand on one side and ten thousand on the other side, angelic assistance, treading on the lion and the adder (representing demons and devils), etc. The list of benefits is simply massive and almost endless. All because we dwell in the secret place.
Dwelling in the secret place brings you under the shadow of the almighty. My interest is the shadow. A shadow is indicative of a presence, a shadow lets you know that its owner is right there. When the wrong shadow is above you, life could get so difficult for no reason. But when you dwell in God’s presence by prayer, the shadow of the Almighty and all the attendant blessings becomes yours. Receive grace to dwell in the secret place in Jesus Name.

ii. Make up your mind to dwell in the secret place going forward.
iii. Encourage everyone around you to do the same.
Nugget
When you dwell in God’s presence by prayer, the shadow of the Almighty and all the attendant blessings becomes yours.
