BREAKTHROUGH BY PRAYER
(James 5:16 NIV)

ELIJAH WAS A MAN OF LIKE PASSIONS
James 5:17-18 KJV
“Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit”.
Our text reveals that Elijah’s exploit in prayer was not because he didn’t have any encumbrances of the flesh and environment. These are the things that would naturally frustrate people out of the place and spirit of prayer. Such natural challenges as feelings, passions and constitution. He also battled with sleep, need for food and struggle with distractions just like us; yet he accomplished such prayer feat.
The lesson here is that our natural challenges are common, and people have managed to overcome them to accomplish great things for God and the kingdom. With all the problems that come with the human nature, Elijah prayed and there was no rain for almost four years. He was still a human being when he showed up again in prayer, and rain resumed in the land. The challenge here is that, if Elijah did it, so can you. For one simple reason: we are men of like passions as Elijah.
Sometimes, desire and boldness may just be all you need to accomplish mush prayer life. Spiritual buoyancy without bold moves and strong desires may end up as useless, with a less buoyant prayer life. My counsel therefore is that you seek to boost your prayer life by additional time and stronger fervency. Secondly, boldly solve problems in your life, your land and in people’s lives with the power acquired from the place of prayer in Jesus Name.

b. Set up yourself for an unbroken prayer life by putting all in place as stated in today’s teaching.
c. Ask the Holy Spirit for enough grace and help for an unbroken prayer life.
