YOUR PRAYER LIFE AND YOUR FUTURE
(Romans 8:26-28 KJV)
“Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose”.
I have realized that every prayer we do has something to do with both our immediate and far future. Our text speaks of the power of praying in the Holy Spirit, which is actually prayer, in tongues. The Spirit of God truly does help our infirmity when we come to the end of our human capacity, it is then that we switch to praying in the Spirit or in tongues as we know it. We now know that praying in the Holy Spirit is one of the easiest ways to pray God’s will for our lives.
What we seldom celebrate is the fact that those prayers have direct bearing on our future as individuals, because soon after verse 27, where it says that the spirit makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God, the word ‘and’ follows after. Sentences don’t begin with the word “and”, rather they are used as conjunctions, to continue what was previously being said. The meaning of this is “and we know that after the prayer in tongues, that everything begins to work together for good”. Prayer in tongues travels directly into your future, both immediate and far.
Therefore, to be prayerless is to be futureless. To be prayerless is to endanger the future greatly. To be prayerless is to resign to a future of great stress and hindrances; your future will do as well as your prayer life, your daily prayer fellowship with God is a great boost for your future. God Himself will work better in your life with minimal distractions caused by your robust prayer life. Prayerlessness makes you a direct victim of life. Be strong today and build a strong prayer life in Jesus Name.
