PRAYER BOOSTERS II

(Exodus 34:28-30 KJV)
“And he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him. And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him”.

According to Jesus in Matthew 6, fasting is not an “If” but a “when”. Fasting is a must for every believer. A time will come in your life when you will come under pressure to go on certain dimensions of fasting. Things will come up that will make you want to fast for days, weeks and even months; But, the main cause for fasting of any kind is hunger in your spirit.

The hunger of your spirit will cause your physical hunger to disappear, and in most cases, the physical hunger will not return until the spiritual hunger is quenched or satisfied. This was the kind of experience that Moses had, that made him ascend a mountain and stayed in prayer to God for 40 days and nights without food or water. He didn’t stay there for that long out of will power but out of hunger for God. Hence David said “as the deer pants for the waters, so my soul longs after you…”. Psalm 42:1.

The effect of this is the shinning! Moses’s face began to shine literarily, to the point where his face had to be veiled to avoid the intensity of the physical glory that radiated from his face. Those days of prayer was boosted by fasting. Fasting silences the flesh and cravings of the body so that the human spirit can ascend in intensity. The end of it all is that you will become very sensitive and extremely close to God. In that state, prayer becomes a natural consequence. Receive fasting grace in Jesus Name.
