HOW TO WAIT FOR THE COMING OF THE LORD
Act 1:6-8 KJV
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth”.
Today, our topic is on how to wait for the coming of the Lord or how not to miss the coming of the Lord. Many have been so confused as to how to handle, prepare and await the coming of the Lord. But Jesus made it so clear, by asking His disciples not to desire to know when He would be coming. Rather, He told them what to do while they waited.
He said, “you will receive power after the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be witnesses unto me from Jerusalem to Judaea and to the Samaria and the uttermost parts of the earth”. In simple terms, Jesus implied: “in waiting for my coming, go and win souls and fulfill your purpose in life”. His instructions were clear; “let your life make Impact all around the world; make a difference in people’s lives and that will help you wait successfully for my return”.
Sitting and doing nothing will make you successfully miss the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. But being busy with what you consider your assignments, is the way out. Waiting is easy when you are busy, hence Jesus said “occupy till I come”. Which also means get busy till I come. Do my work, pursue and fulfill your destiny, keep busy till I come. (Luke 19:13).
Receive grace to be occupied and be successfully prepared for the coming of the Lord in Jesus Name.
Action Points
i. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal your specific assignment or purpose to you.
ii. Determine to win souls in a massive manner. Seek to use every opportunity as a platform to win souls.
iii. Avoid all forms of spiritual idleness.
Prayer
-Lord keep my eyes on you as I keep my hands on your work in Jesus Name.
-Lord please charge my heart with zeal and passion for your work and for souls in Jesus Name.
Nugget
Sitting and doing nothing will make you successfully miss the return of our Lord. Waiting is easy when you are busy, hence Jesus said “occupy till I come”.
