FINANCIAL LAWS YOU MUST NEVER BREAK IV
(Exodus 23:15 KJV)
“Thou shalt keep the feast of unleavened bread: (thou shalt eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded thee, in the time appointed of the month Abib; for in it thou camest out from Egypt: and none shall appear before me empty:)”
God is a king, and as a matter of fact He is the King of kings, and no king is to be approached empty handed. It is tantamount to dishonour and taking your king for granted. It is the manner of your approach to your king that defines the worth you have in your heart for your king.
The value and worth you show towards God determines the flow of value and worth that flows from Him to you. It begins with living with the consciousness of the fact that you are not just going to church, but going for a meeting with the King. Paul said when you draw near to God, He would draw near to you; it also means that the way you approach God is the way God will take and treat you. That was why Joseph approached king Pharaoh in a special way; he had to change his clothes, otherwise he would have returned back to the prison after interpreting the dream.
We go to God with a gift according to His blessings in our lives. It is called free-will offering. I call it free will gift, because that concept of offering is so misunderstood. It sounds like “collection” or a contribution for the poor. No! it is a gift for the King. Here is how the Good News Bible readers this matter:
“Do you want to meet an important person? Take a gift and it will be easy.” (Proverbs 18:16 GNB).
This is the truth of the matter; we all pray but we all don’t get the same kind of answers. We all are God’s children but we all don’t relate with Him in the same way. We are all beneficiaries of the sacrifice of Jesus, but we are all not blessed in the same way; all because we do not serve and sacrifice for Him in the same way. God is not partial, however, God will not bless you the same way He blesses a man who sacrifices for His righteous cause. Check out this scripture as we rap up:
“He says, “Gather my faithful people to me, those who made a covenant with me by offering a sacrifice.” (Psalms 50:5 GNB)
Action Points
i. Decide to value God higher today.
ii. Determine to take a gift to God in each service and not just an “offering”.
iii. Be deliberate about how you go to church by planning your offerings.
Prayer
Pray with the Action Points.
Nugget
We are all beneficiaries of the sacrifice of Jesus, but we are all not blessed in the same way; all because we do not serve and sacrifice for God in the same way.
