WHY HIS HOUSE MUST BE FILLED
(Luke 14:21-23 KJV)
“So that servant came, and shewed his Lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled”.
Our text reveals a side of God that we don’t get to see a lot; it is that side of Him that hates empty seats in His house, it is that side of Him that resents half-filled or less-filled meetings in His house, and the reasons are obvious. The next time you see a less than filled church meeting, please know that God is not pleased, He is grieved and would want all in that meeting to step out to persuade many more to come in. Here are the reasons why His house must be filled:
– An empty house or less than filled house is a mockery to the supreme sacrifice and price that our Lord paid on Calvary that day.
– An empty house makes it look as though Jesus died only for a few people. If He died for all, there is no reason why the house should not be filled.
– It indicates a lack of appreciation for what God has done in your life, and as such it shows in your lack of desire to bring others into your own encounters with Him.
– The house Of God is the carpenter-workshop of Jesus. It is a place where God refines people through the process of discipleship. An empty church therefore means that real discipleship is not taking place in the church. This is heart breaking because Jesus specifically instructed that we make disciples of all men in Matthew 28:19 (NKJV)
– God wants to reach and teach many people at the same time. If God sends a word of healing to His church, He would want thousands of people reached and taught at once. Not getting as many as possible to hear the same word in one meeting makes the work unnecessarily hard and stagnated.
Receive grace to partake in the mission to fill the house of God today in Jesus Name.
Action Points
i. Make up your mind today to make sure that you see the house of God is filled.
ii. Ask the Lord to fill your heart with His passion for a filled house.
iii. Tell someone about Jesus today without fail and invite someone to the next church Service today without fail.
Prayer
-Lord, I thank you for your word on witnessing today in Jesus Name.
-Lord cause me to be a soul magnet for you in Jesus Name.
Nugget
An empty house makes it look as though Jesus died only for a few people. If He died for all, there is no reason why His house should not be filled.
