WHEN THE SPIRIT MOVES
Genesis 1:2-3 KJV
“And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. And God said, Let there be light: and there was light”.
The very first time there was a moving of the Spirit is recorded in our text. The moving of the Spirit of God is always a sign and it is indicative of certain things that are about to happen. The Spirit of God cannot move without something happening. The Spirit of God moves to usher in the acts of God, the Spirit moves as a protocol that releases the hand of God to touch and do the miraculous.
In our text, when God saw that the earth was without form and void, and that darkness had filled the earth, just about then, the Spirit of God began to brood upon the face of the waters. The Spirit did so to show that it was okay for God to give a command and it would be carried out. The Holy Spirit is the Chief executor of God’s business on earth. So, God spoke when He was sure that the Spirit was ready to execute. When God said “Let there be light”, it was the Spirit that brought it to pass. Literally everything God spoke was done by the Spirit of God.
The Spirit of God will not just move by Himself, He has to be stirred up to move. Anyone can stir up the Spirit of God at any time and anywhere, and you can get the exact same result. Elisha was to prophesy to two kings and he sent for a minstrel. A minstrel is a musician or a worship minister, and as the minstrel ministered, the Spirit of God was stirred and the hand of God came upon Elisha and he began to prophesy. And everything he prophesied about all came to pass, because the Spirit of the Lord was the doer of the things he prophesied about. The Spirit can move on your behalf as well, and when you sense Him move, please open your mouth and make a declaration. Receive grace to get the Spirit moving in your life and on your behalf in Jesus Name.
