THE SPIRIT OF KNOWLEDGE
Isaiah 11:1-2 KJV
“And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord”.
We have been studying the various components and dimensions of the Holy Spirit. Today, we are talking about the knowledge dimension of the Holy Ghost, it is known as the spirit of Knowledge. The Spirit of the Lord is an all-Knowing Spirit, such that nothing is hidden from Him. There is no knowledge or mystery that is outside His reach; He sees all and He knows all.
In Daniel 5:12, it was said of Daniel that he had both an excellent spirit and the spirit of Knowledge, such that no dream was hidden from him, and he was able to show hard sentences.
The knowledge that Daniel possessed was way more than just acquired knowledge, it was caused by the spirit of Knowledge. One time, the king Nebuchadnezzar had a dream of the night and woke up in the morning forgetting the dream completely. But the king knew that the dream held a strong message for him, so he sent for all his magicians and astrologers, and asked them to tell him the dream he had dreamt and forgotten. The magicians let him know that no king had ever asked such a thing of their subject. They said the answer to such a mystery did not lie with men in flesh and blood. Daniel 2:10-11.
Then, Daniel and his three friends were also sought for, since they were wise men of the kingdom as well. And they requested for time to pray and seek the face of God. What God did was that He blessed Daniel with the spirit of Knowledge, or you could say God gave him the spirit of revelation knowledge. So, he was able to gain access into the realm of the spirit and catch the king’s dream. He told the dream plainly with very detailed and accurate interpretations. It was such that the king had to worship him thereafter due to his shock and surprise. This is the working of the spirit of Knowledge.
I have personally found myself in a situation where a highly placed personality sends for me, and I am wondering the reason for the meeting, and I would want to know before showing up for the meeting. Within minutes to a few hours, the answer will drop in my spirit. It is the function of the spirit of Knowledge. Receive the grace to cultivate the working of that spirit in your life in Jesus Name.
Action Points
i. Give yourself to prayer in a consistent manner and you will see the spirit of Knowledge at work in you.
ii. Begin to practice (daily), staying in the presence of God.
iii. Keep your environment as joyful and as tension free as possible.
Prayer
-Lord, I long for your presence in my life today.
-Lord, please fill me with your presence in Jesus Name.
Nugget
The Spirit of the Lord is an all-Knowing Spirit, such that nothing is hidden from Him.
