WHY WERE YOU BORN?

HOLINESS REDEFINES YOU
(Romans 1:3-4 KJV)
‘Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:’
There is who you are by birth, but there is who you are by new birth. When your mother gave birth to you, you received a name or an identity that defined your life and its outcomes; Jesus had His share of that too. He was called the son of David according to the flesh. Just like you are known by whatever name your bear right now by the flesh.
When you got born again your spirit was birthed, a new occupant took over your entire being; His name is the Holy Spirit. Literarily the Holy Spirit makes people holy. When the Spirit of holiness gets into your life, a new you begins to emerge and the ills and negativities of your life begin to wash away, then your true nature and assignment starts to unfold. The washing away of your old nature is the redefinition of your person. The holier you get, the more you are able to fulfill your destiny. Abram had another side to Him called Abraham, Jacob had another side to him called Israel, and you too have another side to you that must manifest in Jesus Name.
Since we are made in the image and likeness of God, He therefore has called us into that realm of His likeness where he says ‘be ye holy for I the Lord I’m Holy’. So beyond pursuing the Holy life as a believer, holiness is a part of our calling. It is the very nature of God and we are fashioned like Him. If it was not possible to attain holiness here on earth, God would not have asked us to be Holy just as He is.
Jesus was made the seed of David by the flesh but was declared the son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness. You too were made “Okon” or “Alice” according to the flesh but you will soon be declared a world changer by the spirit of Holiness. Receive the grace to pursue holiness in Jesus Name.
Action Points/ Prayer
-If you are not saved, receive Jesus into your life today by responding to the altar call in service this morning.
-Ask the Spirit of God to overwhelm you with the grace to be holy today.
-Reject every sinful spirit in and around you today and consciously begin to partner with the Holy Spirit for an injection of Holiness into your life.
Nugget
When the Spirit of holiness gets into your life, a new you begins to emerge and the ills and negativities of your life begin to wash away.
