FOLLOWING ABRAHAM’S EXAMPLE II
(Isaiah 51:1-2 KJV)
Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged. Look unto Abraham your father, and unto Sarah that bare you: for I called him alone, and blessed him, and increased him.
Yesterday we discovered a few reasons why Abraham is a real example to follow. But today I will throw in more light into this subject from a slightly different perspective from yesterday.
i. God called him alone.
Don’t be afraid when you seem to be the only one that God seems to have called amongst your friends and family members. Abraham was there and he handled it well. He ended up becoming the light that his family needed to get out of poverty and shame. So, if and when God is calling you, make sure you obey Him regardless of how lonely the road might be initially. God called Abraham alone, that point must be seriously noted. God always starts small, He starts with one. Don’t be afraid to be the one.
ii. God blessed him.
God does not call you to mess you up, He calls you to bless you. God does not call you to leave you the same way, He calls you to change your level. God blessed Abraham in all things. This was Abraham who was literarily under a curse, because he could not afford a simple accommodation for himself and his wife, at the age of seventy-five. But God blessed him and he could provide for hundreds of people as well as feed them daily. If you follow Abraham’s example then this will soon be your story in Jesus Name.
iii. God increased Him.
No blessing leaves you at the same level. Traditionally and historically, the blessing has always been known for increasing those who carry it. Right from the creation in Genesis chapter one, God blessed man and said to him be fruitful, multiply or increase. Which means that immediately after the blessing, comes the increase or multiplication.
I see you replicating Abraham’s story in your life and family in Jesus Name.
Action Points/Prayer
i. If you have not responded to the call of God to salvation do so today without fail, and begin your journey with God.
ii. Lord, please kill every thing in me that works against total dependence on you in Jesus Name.
Nugget
God does not call you to mess you up, He calls you to bless you.
