THE WISDOM OF THE ANT
Proverbs 6:6-8 NKJV
“Go to the ant, you sluggard! Consider her ways and be wise, Which, having no captain, Overseer or ruler, Provides her supplies in the summer, And gathers her food in the harvest.”
Our text today reveals a whole lot of wisdom that the ant displays. The ant is so wise, it can provide its meat or food, all by itself without any help. In the summer, it gathers food and in the winter when there is no food, the ant has sufficient and enough and does not need to risk its life looking for food. Besides things literarily dry up in winter time, such that it is very hard to see any supplies, both among humans and animals. All of these the ant achieves despite its small size and fragile nature. That is absolutely wisdom.
The ant does not need a guide, ruler or King to make it work, no! It instructs and guides itself and needs no supervision. This is a wisdom that is grossly lacking among human beings, as intelligent and powerful as we are. There is hardly any staff or employee that is not in very high demand of supervision before they can produce or be effective. Such employees are highly fluid in nature, they can be laid off anytime by management. Such people are high maintenance people. They cost their employers too much money, because, after they have been employed, their employers are forced to spend more money to employ supervisors to make them work.
Lastly, such people will never be able to own their own business. At no point in time do they ever handled their assignments and work as though they owned the company. So, they never get qualified for their own blessings of businesses and companies. The ant is so small, so fragile, yet very very wise. They possess a wisdom that has put them in the pages of the scriptures. To be a sluggard is to be lazy, and the ants, though small, are very hard working and not lazy in their operations. Grace for such wisdom be multiplied unto you in Jesus Name.
Action Points/Prayer
i. Reject every trace of laziness in your life today in Jesus Name.
ii. Ask God for plenty of grace for tireless and diligent work in Jesus Name.
Nugget
The ant does not need a guide, ruler or King to make it work, no! It instructs and guides itself and needs no supervision. Learn from the ant!
