THE WICKEDNESS OF ENVY
(James 3:14, 16 KJV)
“But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”
Envy is a painful or resentful awareness of an advantage enjoyed by another joined with a desire to possess the same advantage. It is the feeling of wanting to have what someone else has, for which you become resentful of the person. Envy is usually accompanied by malice, covetousness and deep resentment. It makes it hard for you to appreciate anything the other person does.
Envy can make you do very terrible and despicable things. It can make you kill your wife or husband; it turns you into a very evil person overnight. Envy made the Jews to crucify Jesus, they just hated Him for His success and breakthroughs in ministry; Matthew 27:18. So envy unchecked and untreated can turn you into a little devil, a murderer, a blackmailer, a thief or a robber, etc. If people could kill the son of God out of envy, then envy can cause worse things.
Envy is a satanic wisdom, and you can overcome. Here are a few tips with which envy can be overcome:
-Appreciate people’s success/progress in your heart and in your privacy, by so doing you will be attracting their results to yourself too.
-Tell them about it in a congratulatory way. Don’t be angry at what God is doing with them.
-Pray for them in your closet, and ask God to increase them even more. By so doing you are drawing the same grace into your life as well.
-Talk about their testimonies and celebrate their testimonies at their backs.
-Ask God to do the same for you by sowing seed into their lives.
-Defend them whenever people want to speak evil against them. Refuse to be a part of such discussions.
-Pray and ask God to kill every trace envy in your life, and let Him fill your heart with love and appreciation.

-Lord I receive the spirit of love in Jesus Name.
-I am not envious, there is no envy in my system in Jesus Name.
-I operate in love, I think love, walk in love, I talk love from today in the Name of Jesus.
